About

Story First Design

Skyrim Underground is a whitelisted heavy-roleplay server for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, built on the SkyMP project. Every person you see is a real human, not just an NPC, with a server that can handle thousands of players at once.

Heavy-roleplay, or HRP, is roleplay that aims to be as realistic as reasonable for the purpose of simulating life in Tamriel as a base for telling great stories. Economy, injuries, progression, and more, are all handled by the game engine and balanced for 1:1 timescale so players can focus their energy on their character's behavior.

To maintain HRP, we are very strict on metagaming, powergaming, lore-accuracy, and general RP etiquette. Suggestions are always reviewed, but will be denied if they don't follow the server vision. All players are vetted through a whitelist and vouch system, hence the name "Skyrim Underground" in order to keep the RP quality high.

All forms of roleplay is valid and HRP isn't for everyone. This is a community for writers wanting to create a story within a fully simulated living-breathing world, not just a multiplayer game with extra immersion. Story is the focus, not gameplay, and everything you see is meant to be taken seriously and lore-accurate.

Members will be expected to maintain a level of maturity to remain in the community. This server is welcome to all 18 and up, but is recommended for those 26 and older.

  • Skyrim Anniversary Edition

Skyrim AE is required, both Steam and GOG are supported. During sales, we may offer giveaways to those who can't afford it themselves.

    Required

  • A Discord Account

Discord is required to verify players via their 3rd party OAuth system. We never see nor require your token.

    Required

  • Mature Mindset

Elder Scrolls contains many dark, uncomfortable, and adult themes. While you will never be expected to play uncomfortable scenes out, cruel fates may await your character and the ability to handle it with grace out-of-character is required.

    Required

  • Writing & Roleplaying Skills

You should already be familiar with terms and concepts like Metagaming, Bleeding/Mixing, and Mary Sues.

If you aren't, we are willing to teach, but you may want to get your toes wet with MRP servers first.
